On the second day of testimony in the Matter of Anthony Abrams, Commissioners Veronica Castillo-Perez and Robert Cavanaugh heard testimony from Sgt. Andrew Yaletsko and Officer Jill Kersteller, who were at Episcopal Hospital on March 8 2010, when Abrams was treated after being arrested by Officer Eric Burke. A panel of three Police Advisory Commissioners heard testimony from two eyewitnesses and complainant Anthony Abrams on June 29th, 2011. Mr. Abrams alleges that he was physically abused by Philadelphia Officer Eric Burke during an incident at York and Lawrence Streets on March 10, 2010. This hearing concerns a physical abuse complaint in the 15th Police District stemming from an incident on the 2100 block of Granite St in April 2010. On Wednesday evening The commission panel heard testimony from Mr. Bey, his wife and brother. Serving on this panel are commissioners Rachel Branson, Esq. (Presiding Officer), Edward James, and Charles Volz Esq. Testimony from police who responded to the incident will be heard on Thursday, April 28 in Courtroom #304 of the Criminal Justice Center.
